Tight first Qualifying for Ginetta GT Supercup at Brands Hatch

After a very tight qualifying in the Ginetta GT Supercup Tom Sharp (IDL Racing) took pole position, but the top 4 places were covered by 54 thousandths of a second. in second place was Andrew Richardson (Richardson Racing) with Tom Ingram (JHR) 3rd and Josh Wakefield (the player.co.uk/Century Motorsport) in 4th place.

Of the new runners Hunter Abbott (Century Motorsport) was representative as he stated “Reasonably happy only 1/2 second off pole but that left me in 7th place”
Tom Sharp was a bit more sanguine “With the track damp at the start I took it easy but managed at the end to get a clean lap when I was not held up to snatch pole on my last lap”

Josh Wakefield was disappointed with only 4th place especially as he had showed early and was 8/10 second faster than anyone, but he has bumped down to 4th. As Josh said “A bit of what should have been and when at the end of a session I was on a hot lap that might have snatched pole i was held up at Cascades. It is a long weekend and i expect to be on the podium after the first race.
The first race of the season takes place at 14:20 and is over 16 laps. The weather is overcast but a small possibility of rain this afternoon.
