Colchester teenager Josh Wakefield is looking forward to competing for the Ginetta GT Supercup championship after a successful first test in a Ginetta G55 at Silverstone, run by Century Motorsport.
Wakefield is again running with century Motorsport after a season in British GT in a Ginetta GT4 car in 2011. He has gelled with the team and the expert tutelage of team Principal Nathan Freke.
The Ginetta GT Supercup is one of the support races to the extremely popular British touring car championship with its large crowds and lots of live coverage on ITV4.
After testing Wakefield said “I am getting on well with the team and have settled in quickly with the car with great help and guidance from Nathan Freke. The quickest time I set was 5/10thfaster than the pole time set in October 2011”

“I am grateful for the support from The Player magazine and management guidance from Baz Scott from Race Drivers inc. For the coming season I see competition coming from drivers such as Tom Sharp and Tom Ingram, and I am looking forward to the battles ahead.”
Wakefield is testing again this week at brands Hatch and hopes to have one other test before the opening season weekend at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent on 31st march/1stApril. There will be three races over the two days.
